This site aims to be usable by everyone, including people who navigate by keyboard, screen reader, or voice, and people who prefer reduced motion, reduced transparency, or higher contrast. This page states plainly what is implemented, what we have actually tested, and what we know is not perfect yet.

How this site supports assistive access
The homepage is an interactive constellation map, which makes its accessibility model worth stating explicitly: everything the map shows also exists as plain, structured text on the same page.
Keyboard access to the constellation
Every cluster label on the homepage map is a real button, reachable with Tab and activated with Enter. Opening a cluster lists its pages as ordinary links in a panel, so every destination on the map is reachable without a mouse. Escape steps back one level, and the slash key jumps to search.
A full text equivalent of the map
The complete content of the constellation, including services, reports, guides, and navigation, is present on the homepage as structured text with headings and links for screen readers and other assistive technology.
Focus management and skip links
Visible focus outlines throughout; skip links to the main content and to search; opening the homepage detail panel moves focus into it and closing it returns focus to where you were.
Motion, transparency, and contrast preferences
The reduced-motion setting disables ambient animation, including the map's rotation and entrance effects. The reduced-transparency setting replaces translucent surfaces with solid ones. The increased-contrast setting switches to a higher-contrast colour set in both light and dark themes.
Announcements you can hear
Search and voice status is announced through a live region. Routine updates are announced politely; microphone and permission errors are announced immediately so they are not missed.
Voice that degrades gracefully
Voice search is optional. When the browser does not support speech recognition, or microphone permission is declined, the page says so in plain text and the text search keeps working. The read-aloud feature uses pre-recorded audio with a text fallback.
Tested claims only
We publish only the testing we have genuinely done, and we say so plainly rather than implying a broader matrix.
Keyboard-only walkthroughs
Full keyboard navigation of the homepage constellation, panels, search, menus, and theme controls, verified in Chromium-based browsers at desktop and mobile viewport sizes, in both light and dark themes.
VoiceOver on macOS
Screen-reader passes of the homepage and key content pages using Apple VoiceOver. We have not yet run NVDA, JAWS, or TalkBack passes, and we do not claim them; if you use one of these and hit a problem, your report is especially valuable.
Preference settings
Reduced motion, reduced transparency, increased contrast, and both colour themes exercised directly, with contrast ratios of the main text and control pairs measured against WCAG 2.2 AA thresholds during design.
Not yet independently audited
This site has not undergone a formal third-party accessibility audit, so we describe it as built to WCAG 2.2 AA principles rather than claiming certified conformance.
What we know is not perfect
The star field itself is visual
Individual stars on the canvas are decorative points; they are not each focusable. Their destinations are reachable through the cluster panels and through the text layer, which is the supported non-visual route.
Voice input depends on your browser
Speech recognition availability varies by browser and platform, and microphone permission is always yours to grant. The text search is the universal path.

Some downloadable reports are PDFs whose internal tagging varies. If you need a specific report in an accessible form, email us and we will help directly.
Older pages are being brought up to standard
The site has hundreds of pages built over several years. Newer templates carry the full model described above; older pages are upgraded as they are revised.
